Beaconsfield Squash Club. When will we Open?

Hello Members!

Further to Monday's newsletter, and in response to quite a few emails and also future bookings on the system. This is the process we are following:

1) Wait to hear what tier we will be placed into. This has just been announced - Buckinghamshire will be in Tier 2. Reviewed again on 16th December.

2) Wait to see the full guidance from our Governing body as to what we can/can't do based upon the tier we are placed into.

3) Formulate a plan so that we can offer whatever we are allowed to.

4) Communicate to all and open up the bookings. Hopefully by Saturday 28th....With some sort of court availability from Wednesday 2nd Dec.

Sorry to those who have booked advanced courts after the 7th Dec. I have cancelled them off and blocked the bookings for now. We really must wait until we know if we can do bubbles, sides, solo, or not before we can offer bookings. I do share your keenness to return!

General implications of the tier's (depending upon final confirmation from ES and the government):

Tier 1: Bubbles, 1-1 coaching, bar table service. Basically as we were pre-lockdown. Rule of 6 socialising.

Tier 2: Solo practice, same household play, 1-1 coaching. No bar service. Unsure about changing rooms and showers yet. Rule of 6 outside only.

Tier 3: Assume as tier 2, maybe more restrictions. No rule of 6.

In all three tiers, under 18 sport looks to be exempt from the above, we are just waiting to find out if that includes indoor u18 sport and to what capacity or with what restrictions are to be implied.

As a club we must decide, based upon the restrictions: what days and times we will open, what we can do within the rules (outdoor bar if not allowed indoors etc), how much 1-1 coaching, junior coaching, solo work etc we can offer and how to staff our opening times.

Thank you all for your continued patience, it really is a waiting (and hoping) game before we can confirm exactly what we will be able to offer.

Best Wishes, stay safe, Andy and the Team.
